Candidates, verified polls and race ratings, each number with its source. Published aggregates are reproducible from a versioned model and a stored input snapshot; community responses never enter them. No sponsorships, no paid ratings, no advertising.

Vugol Attention, the Vugol Vector and the Vugol Tensor are Vugol Me signals, not polls. Vugol Pulse is our own daily question and stays out of every average.

Today’s question

One question a day about yesterday’s news, on something national polls are not asking. Thumbs up, thumbs down or not sure, then see where everyone else landed.

Press accessOctober 16 · news of October 14

Should the White House be allowed to bar specific news outlets from its press events?

On October 14, 2026, PBS NewsHour interviewed an attorney for news outlets barred by the White House about their court fight over press access.

Social Security (illustration)
Social SecurityOctober 15 · news of October 14

Should Social Security's yearly cost-of-living raise be based on an inflation measure built around older Americans' spending?

The final inflation report before the midterms came out October 14, showing rising gas prices pushing inflation higher. Social Security's 2027 cost-of-living adjustment was also in the news that day.

How Vugol Pulse works

  • Not a poll. Anyone can answer, so results show what Vugol Pulse readers think, not what Americans think. These answers never enter our polling averages, trackers or race ratings.
  • The questions. Each morning an AI model reads the previous day’s news and drafts three neutral questions with links to the reporting. Fixed checks reject loaded wording, topics national pollsters already ask about, and stories about deaths, victims or minors. Vugol staff review the drafts; if no one has approved one by 8:20 am Eastern, the top draft goes out on schedule and says so.
  • The pictures. Each question shows an illustration adapted from a freely licensed photo on Wikimedia Commons, credited under the picture, or a drawn poster when no suitable photo is found. Pictures illustrate the topic; they are not photos of the news event itself.
  • Answering. You can answer 3 questions without an account. After that, sign in with your email (no password) to keep answering. Each person gets one answer per question and can change it while the question is open (7 days).
  • Optional questions about you. After your first answer we ask once for your ZIP code (skip if you like; we remember either way). Members may then see one short question per visit: age group, gender, party, 2024 vote, education and race. Every one can be skipped or answered “prefer not to say.” They are used only for group totals and never shown individually; your ZIP code is never published. See the privacy policy.
  • Adults only. Vugol Pulse is for people 18 and older.

The four Vugol signals, side by side

They answer different questions and are kept apart. Full method: Methodology.

Vugol Vector
Our call for every race as if the vote were held today. A snapshot, not a win probability or a vote share.
Vugol Tensor
How sure we are: ranges and chamber-control odds around the Vector, built from past polling error. An experiment about uncertainty, not a better guess.
Vugol Attention
How much news and online noise a race gets, 0 to 100. It measures noise, not support: a high score says nothing about who is ahead.
Vugol Pulse
Our daily thumbs-up or thumbs-down question for readers. Anyone can answer, so it describes our readers, not the public. It is not a vote and never enters a poll average or any other signal.
